Women's Day
The diocese of Pala celebrated this year’s women’s day with a motto ‘Women Empowerment through Agri-Entrepreneurship’ collaborating all women’s organizations in the diocese and PSWS took a lead for the celebration. The day was celebrated as a carnival which includes food fests, various competitions, exhibitions, seminars on women entrepreneurships and cultural events. The Bishop of Pala, Mar Joseph Kalaragath delivered the keynote address and eminent personalities from all levels of society blessed the day with their presence. The Vicar General Mons. Dr. Sebastian Vethanathu, Muncipal Chairperson Mrs. Mary Dominic, State Backward Commission Member Adv. Bindhu Thomas, Taluk Library Council President Dr. Sindhumol Jacob and people representatives where some of them. Around thousand women from all walks of life made this day colourful by their participation.
- Paper Bag Making
Paper Bag Making in the month of December 2019 PSWS organized a one-day training program for the SHG members in Paper bag making. 32 representatives from various SHGs where participated and Mr. Roshan Zac Luckose, Chaganacherry deliberated the training with demonstration. The participants were greatly inspired by the program and expressed their willingness to start production units in their units.
INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY
ASHAKIRANAM CANCER CARE CAMPAIGN
PSWS partnered with SMYM Pala to observe International Women's Day on 8th March 2024 hilariously. Approximately 200 Youth participated in the program where the Donation of Hair to make wigs to be made available for cancer patients free of cost.17 young girls and women ranging from 12 years old to 42 years old donated 11 inches of their hair for this noble cause. Nisha Jose K Mani renowned Social enabler and environmentalist inaugurated the program.
