1. Matsya Gramam project 

PSWS matsya gramam project compromises building of ferrocement fish ponds, supply of fish and feed. This project was inaugurated at Pala by Mar Jacob Murickan, Auxiliary Bishop of Pala at Shri Jose K Mani MP’s residence and at Chemmalamattom by Shri P.C George MLA at the residence of Shri Sibi Kaniyambadi. Many churches, convents and families have grabbed this opportunity and gotfish ponds built and are enthusiastically engaged in fish farming.

  1. Agro-industrial Park

On the occasion of the closing ceremony ‘Farmer’s year’ of Pala Diocese, his Excellency Mar Joseph Kallarangatt, Bishop of Pala declared the period between 2021 to 2030 as FARMERS DECADE. The diocese aims at a number of comprehensive and sustainable projects and activities for this decade. Programmes are devised with a view to:

  • Ensure reasonable price for farm produce and farm-based products and 
  • Create as many employment opportunities as possible.

              Agro industrial park has been a long-cherished vision of the Bishop/Diocese efforts are underway to turn these dreams into reality as a five-acre plot adjacent to steel India compound of Pala diocese. Contour map of this park is prepared and work is in progress to demarcate plots aesthetically to suit a park. In the first phase stress is given to create a background for value enhancing projects for farm producers by setting up multidrier units. Work for this will start soon.
