The Day of Differently Abled

People with Disabilities Beloved by God: Mar Jacob Murikkan.

Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Pala, Mar Jacob Murikan, said that people with disabilities are very dear to God and set an example and inspiration to others. He was speaking after inaugurating the Pala Social Welfare Society's Disability Day celebrations in Pala in collaboration with the Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI).  Prizes were also distributed to the winners of various competitions organized for students at the diocesan level.  The Bishop was inaugurating the Disability Day celebrations at Lalam St. Mary's Church Parish Hall. PSWS Director Fr. Thomas Kizhakkel presided over the function. Vicar of Lalam Church, Fr. Johnson Pullitt and Mr. Dantis Koonanickal (PRO-PSWS) greeted the function. Nearly 100 people were participated in the function. The programme became more colourful by the motivation class and experience sharing of Ms. Seethu R, who is also a differently abled person. An awareness class on various government schemes and benefits for people with disabilities was conducted in the after noon session. Brother Jekson Kaduthodil, Mr. Joy Madikkankal, Mr. Siby Kaniyampady, Mr. P V George, Mr. Jose Nelliyani,Mr Albin Joseph, Mr. Jestin Joseph, Mrs.Merly James, Mrs. Mercy Joseph, Mrs. Alice George, Mrs. Jaicy Mathew, Mrs. Sheeba Benny, Mrs. Elizabeth Siby, Mrs. Claris Cherian, Mrs. Litty Santhosh, Ms. Aleena Mathew and Ms. Santhwana Shijan were led the program.
